Halter Ranch Wine
Halter Ranch is one of my favorite places on the planet. I adore Mitch & Leslie, their chickens, their crazy dog, and their commitment to the land and people. And you can never go wrong with a bottle of Halter Ranch anything.
As many of you know, we just moved our office. It was brutal, but the fun part of it was rediscovering some old treasures and files.
During the move, I found this Dave Eckert (Culinary Travels) DVD. He did a great job with this piece, and if you ever have a chance to hang out with Dave, I highly recommend it. He is FUN!
Some of the information is old <understatement>. If you know anything about the Vineyard Team, you know that we are dynamic and our stats change constantly.
For one, I am not going by Kris O’Connor any more – I recently went back to my maiden name Kris Beal (only 16 years after my divorce).
And we currently have over 60 vineyards (27K acres) that are now SIP Certified. This is double what it was when this was filmed.
So yes, some of it is dated, but the scenery and overview of the program still standsHalter Ranch have been long time supporters of our work. They always participate in our Earth Day Food & Wine Festival, and this year they’re hosting a lovely hike & brunch on Sunday (a hike with Mitch is ALWAYS a good time!).
They were one of the 12 growers chosen for SIP when we were piloting the program, and they have a GREAT selection of wines that carry the SIP Seal.
