Inspection Wrap Up by July 14

Vineyard and/or Winery inspections are almost complete. Thank you for your hard work and another successful year of SIP Certified. I am always available to answer questions.

Due Dates and Eligibility Process

  • July 14 – Complete your vineyard inspections. Please note applicants are subject to a late fee ($250-$500) for documentation received by the inspector after July 25, 2017.
  • August – Certification Advisory Committee (CAC) votes on eligibility.
  • Late August – Notification of eligibility.
  • September/October – After certification is finalized with the payment of fees, you will receive a certification letter, certificate, materials and handouts, and vineyard sign (new applicants)
  • December
    • Vineyards – Submit year end 8.1.1 (July – Nov. pesticide use reports) and Chapter 11 to your inspector.
    • Wineries – Submit 1.4.1 harvest noise testing to your inspector.

Vineyard Database Tips

Review Inspector Comments in the Database

Once your inspector has reviewed your documentation in the database, you should login to see if any additional information is required. (See screenshots on page 20 of the Database User Guide.)

  1. Login to https://app.sipcertified.org/
  2. Click Certifications
  3. Click the Vineyard name
  4. Look for the chapters with an exclamation point symbol (!) to the right. These have questions requiring additional documentation.
  5. Click the (!) chapter
  6. Click the (!) subchapter
  7. Look for a yellow text box
  8. Review notes and make changes
  9. Let your inspector know your documentation has been updated
  10. Click Save
