Kurt Gollnick

Scheid Family Vineyards - COO

Kurt Gollnick was born to farm. He received a BS degree in agricultural business management from Cal Poly and spent seven years as a vineyard manager in Santa Maria before joining Scheid Family Wines back in 1988. Today, Kurt is the company’s COO overseeing winery operations and 11 estate vineyards totaling 4,000 acres. From day one he has championed sustainability in the vineyards, winery and community. He was also instrumental in the construction of SFW’s towering 394-foot-high wind turbine that powers the entire winery operation and provides electricity for an additional 125 homes. In addition to his duties at SFW, Kurt has served as president of the Central Coast Grape Growers and Monterey Grape Growers Associations and, more importantly, soccer coach for Notre Dame High School. “Farming is a lot like soccer. Both require strategy, patience, teamwork and comfortable shoes.”
