I had the difficult task of heading down to Tolosa Winery in San Luis Obispo (thanks to Central Coast Vineyard Team and the SIP Certified program) with my wife to check out this awesome event with an amazing name: SIP and Shuck! It was all about Tolosa wines, their 2011 Sauvignon Blanc to be specific, and some amazing oysters from Ciopinot Seafood Grille.
Not only was I completely impressed with the idea of the event but it’s absolutely true…the pairing was off the hook! It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio at Tolosa, which you’ll see in the slideshow, sipping on a crisp, chilled Sauv Blanc all while snacking on oysters and other wonderful goodies. The oysters were complimented by a delicious assortment of fresh vegetables and dips, courtesy of SLO Veg out of San Luis Obispo.
There’s really not much to say other than the fact that Tolosa is a class act with fantastic wines and a top notch staff, add oysters to that I think we’re bordering on a heavenly experience. Next time you going through San Luis Obispo I strongly encourage you to stop by and check out the wines and be sure to go hang out on the patio, stare at the beautiful vineyards, and watch the planes come in to land at the airport nearby…it really is a unique experience to get lost in!
