Bread Machine Wonder

I have a new cooking hobby: the bread machine. I made a loaf of bread from scratch last week which was excellent but tied up a significant amount of time in mixing, kneading, rising, punching down, rising, punching down, rising, rising, RISING… This got me to thinking about an easier way to enjoy warm, fluffy, fresh baked bread. So I got a Breadman bread machine. I figure for 25 bucks off of Craigs List I can entertain my whim and not be “on the breadline” when I am sick of my baking endeavors in a few months.

Getting started was easy as pie. I have actually spent more time looking at recipes than my combined efforts to learn how to use the machine and bake my first loaf. Six ingredients loaded for an egg bread, punch a button or two, and START. All I had to do was wait  three hours and 30 minutes during which time I was informed that the machine sounds like a pigeon. Heck, I will put up with 10 minutes of pigeon for that rising bread smell!

So far I am in bread baking heaven enjoying freshly baked whole wheat, egg, banana, rye, you name it breads.

Send me your recipes!
