Ag Order 4.0 Update: Reminder to Pay Preservation, Inc by 01/20/22

posted: January 10, 2022

If your vineyard is in Regional Water Quality Control Board Region 3, here is the latest information from Presentation Inc. on how to maintain compliance with Ag Oeder 4.0 through your membership with Presenvation Inc.

The Vineyard Team is partnering with Preservation Inc to act as a 3rd party to help streamline requirements for SIP Certified growers and vineyard growers in general.

Pay Preservation, Inc by 01/20/2022

If you wish to remain a member of Preservation, Inc. this year, please pay your invoice on time, no later than January 20th, 2022.

Preservation, Inc. is required by the Water Boards to submit a list of paying and non-paying operations shortly after the 1/20/22 deadline. Late-paying and non-paying operations will be invoiced directly by the State Water Board, at a higher individual rate (up to $30 per acre, compared to the $1.29/acre group rate). While late-paying operations can still be members of Preservation, Inc. in 2022, the higher individual-rate State Fee invoice cannot be canceled or appealed.

NEW IN 2022: Preservation, Inc. will be performing the “Pre-Trend Irrigation Well Monitoring” that is required by Ag Order 4.0, on behalf of our members between March 1st and May 31st of this year. We will also be performing Domestic Well monitoring and assisting with the required well-user notifications. Growers who are not members of Preservation, Inc. are also required by Ag Order 4.0 to perform this monitoring and reporting in 2022.

Please visit our website after January 15th to sign up for Pre-Trend Irrigation Well Monitoring and (if applicable) Domestic Well Monitoring. Upon collection of your well sample(s), you will be prompted to make a payment for the sample collection, lab analysis, and GeoTracker reporting costs.

While no commitments have been made by the Water Board at this time, it is our sincere hope that they will approve Preservation, Inc’s Groundwater Trend Monitoring Work Plan (forthcoming in 2023). If successful, this will result in our members having fewer samples to collect on an annual basis (with associated cost savings).
