June Member Tips

posted: June 11, 2025

Last week, our Technical Advisory Committee met to discuss two questions that are new to the 2025 standards: Requirement 5.1.5 and Management Enhancement 5.1.9.

The following updates have been made to the 2025 standards.

5.1.5 (You must map your discharge points) is now Management Enhancement 5.1.8, and its language has been revised:

  • Did you conduct an annual perimeter assessment of your ranch boundary to assess for surface water discharge locations (locations where surface water exists the property)?

If discharge locations are present, please identify on a map using directional flow arrows.

Management Enhancement 5.1.9 (Did you test your discharge for nutrients and visually analyze for turbidity?) now has a "not applicable" answer option:

  • Not applicable only if there was no discharge

These new Standards help growers:

  1. Be aware of areas of runoff and potential erosion
  2. In Regional Water Quality Control Board Region 3 comply with Ag Order 4.0
