FAQs
Q: Will I violate Tied-House rules by appearing on the map?
A: Tied-House Restrictions do not apply to the SIP Certified Wine Finder tool.
Tied-House restrictions apply to beverage alcohol manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers.
Since SIP Certified does not hold any ABC licenses, nor is it paid by, controlled by, or acting as an agent of any licensee; and the tool is factual in nature and does not involve paid placement, preferential treatment, exclusivity, or promotional activity on behalf of licensees, there is no risk to SIP Certified members who appear on the map.
While wine producers are manufacturers, the Wine Finder tool does not belong to you, the licensee. It functions as a consumer information resource showing product availability, free of advertising or inducement. Therefore, you are at no risk by appearing on it.
