3 Ways to Make it an Experience

September 10

2024

Your tasting room is more than just a place to try your wines.

It is also what your guests visualize when they hear your name or see your wine on the shelf.  And it’s what they tell their friends and family about when they recall their visit.

Does your tasting room offer a memorable experience?

There are so many ways to make wine tasting special for tasters of any kind.

Templeton based Castoro Cellars has it down! Their tasting room constantly offers unique opportunities for visitors to learn something new and make memories.

For the Music Lovers

Lazy Locals

Every Sunday from May through October, Castoro hosts Lazy Locals. These free concerts invite music lovers and wine enthusiasts to wind down and enjoy an evening of entertainment while sipping their sustainably produced wines.

Whale Rock Music & Arts Festival

And if one band isn’t enough, guests can make a weekend of it at the Whale Rock Music & Arts Festival (this weekend!). This all-ages, summer event welcomes visitors to enjoy live music, local vendors, yoga, and beverages galore: wine, beer, cider, and spirits.

In addition to providing  a unique tasting and entertainment experience, the event has an altruistic purpose. Proceeds from the fest are donated to Templeton Instrumental Music Boosters Association (TIMBA), a volunteer organization that is dedicated to enhancing the experiences of Templeton High School Musicians.

For the Active

Yoga

Wine tasting doesn’t have to be just tasting wine. Offer the opportunity to get active!

Castoro Cellars’ all-level yoga classes, led by their in-house yogi, Lauren Udsen, is the perfect way to start the day. After the 1-hour class, students are invited to enjoy a delicious brunch and sparkling beverage.

Disc Golf

To keep the blood pumping, guests can get up close to the vines at the Whale Rock Disc Golf course.

The 18-hole course is set in their SIP Certified and organically farmed Whale Rock Vineyard. This unique course lets guests blend their passion for sports with their curiosity of the vines.

For the Learners

eBike Tours

Many vineyards offer tours. They’re a great way to show off your vines and educate guests about your unique history and farming practices.

Why not kick it up a notch?

VineCycle eBike Vineyard Tours offer Castoro’s tourists the opportunity to learn about their sustainable and organic farming practices while eBiking through the vineyard. After the two-hour cycle, guests relax table-side and enjoy wine tasting and fresh lunch from the daily food truck!

Wine Tasting 101

Some people who are new to the world of wine are intimidated by all there is to know.

Castoro offers intimate, informative classes to teach the basics of wine tasting. Students gain an understanding of wine’s intricacies and develop the tasting skills they need to get the most out of their future tasting experiences.

How will you make your next tasting an experience?

Share Your Experience This ReSIProcal February

Offer your club members the chance to experience yours and other SIP Certified brands in February 2025.

ReSIProcal February is a month-long event that gives SIP Certified brands the opportunity to increase tasting room traffic by connecting with sustainably-minded brands and wine enthusiasts.

"Participating in ReSIProcal February has been a huge success.

It was the first thing our tasting room staff mentioned at our mid-month staff meeting! They were excited to see quality traffic all month long.

Customers were buying bottles and we even secured new wine club members.

Participating helped us bolster sales in a traditionally slow month."

- Denise Shurtleff, General Manager, Cambria Estate Wines
