Earth Day Food & Wine Festival: The Recap

April 23, 2012

As with any event, there was a lot going on at the Earth Day Food and Wine Festival 2012…from live demonstrations of milking sheep to tasting sheep’s milk ice cream to one of the sheep escaping and running through the vineyards before finally being lassoed…now that is an event.

And guess what, that was just the tip of the iceberg!! As we meandered through the tents full of wine booths, food booths, exhibitors, and all the awesome attendees there was a definite buzz; even in the 95 degree Templeton sun. There was plenty of shade and water to help with our first hot day of the year but it really seemed everyone was having a blast, regardless.

The Mother Corn Shuckers were on stage entertaining everyone, Tactical Avian Predators were on hand showing off some of their beautiful animals, wine was flowing, the food was absolutely amazing, and it had that same feel I referred to before of it being a huge backyard barbeque with 1,000 of your closest friends.

I want to take a moment to thank all the hard work that the Central Coast Vineyard Team put into this along with all the volunteers, wineries, foodie folks, exhibitors, and sponsors. Below you will find a slideshow of the pictures I took with my phone, I hope to do another blog post with the pictures from my regular camera that shows some other aspects of the big party!!

Cheers everyone, hope to see you again next year!!
