The Importance of Sponsors at #EDFW12

April 16, 2012

In these final days before Earth Day Food and Wine Festival it’s important to think about all that goes into such an event. As someone that has gone to many wine events as a wine lover and “blogger”, I very rarely have been able to look deeper into the effort that goes into pulling an event of this size together. I’ve been very fortunate to be working with the Central Coast Vineyard Team (CCVT) recently and have seen and heard about so much of the stuff that this team does year round to prepare for such an important event.

I really wanted to focus on the importance of sponsors in the whole thing. Obviously, the folks at CCVT have spent years building relationships and working side by side with people in regards to sustainability, farming, vineyards, wineries, and beyond. The fact that you have a sponsor list that includes Pomar Junction Vineyard & Winery, PG&E, Carmel Road Winery, Shale Oak Winery, Paraiso Vineyards, Casa Festiva, San Tasti, SLO Vintners and Growth Association, Sage Ecological Landscapes, California Winery Advisor, Wine & Spirits Magazine, A Wandering Wino and so many more.

These groups, businesses, and people believe in something and that something is the mission and goals that CCVT has set out to accomplish via their SIP (Sustainability in Practice) certification program, Earth Day Food & Wine Festival, and all of their year round work.

The people behind CCVT have created a family and these sponsors show that by coming out and donating to this fun event, from the food to the goodies in the tote bags at the entrance, Earth Day Food and Wine Festival comes together as a well oiled machine because the CCVT Team believes in what they are doing and the sponsors come out to support that.

All of this is why the event has become an all time favorite for my wife and I starting in 2010, and now I understand even more just how important the sponsors are to an event like this. So, as an attendee and someone that now works with CCVT and believes in their mission, I’d like to personally thank all of the sponsors for continuing to help make this event possible.

Can’t wait to see you there, cheers!
